~Seitou here again! Okay, so I'm starting the new debate topic a day late... but things have been hectic lately. Essays, presentations, finals, and all sorts of good fun. </sarcasm>
So, let's get started on the next debate topic, which was inspired by a conversation from one of the past forum events: hats & hairstyles. Hats amuse me terribly. They used to be such an essential part of any man's or woman's outfit, but now hardly anyone wears them...
Also, check out *Idzit's club:
Hopefully, I'll be around to take part in this discussion

yessss hats.
PS - Thanks Seitou for featuring my hat club!!! I hope to one day be able to have contests and whatnot.
As for my favorite hats, well they're the big ones, with bows and feathers, and broaches and ribbons and stuff. They're so beautiful, but I get stared at when I wear one in public. I'm starting out with just a wide-brim floppy hat this summer (I'm bringing it on vacation), and perhaps I'll find a nice plain straw hat and adorn it with some pretty things. I have a whole bunch of neato accessories lying around that I'd love to put on a hat: a tiny birdcage, a big gold feather-shaped x-mas ornament, TONS of ostrich feathers (if anyone needs a source, lemme know!
On a daily basis, I either wear my new French-inspired "beret", a pin-striped fedora, my floppy hat, sometimes an old man hat (but with corset-style lacing up the back)...
I saw a guy wearing a top hat in the mall the other day, and he was rockin' it so good, that I wanted to hug him. For wearing a hat. That's how much I like hats...
As for hairstyles... I'm not sure I like some of the stuff I see. One girl looked like she was attacked by a shaver, cause she had pieces of different lengths all over the place; another had a transversal mowhawk (like, from ear to ear); I'm not saying my hair is anything to brag about, but I like the hairstyles from the later 1700s. Curly, elegant and feminine.

I used to have a floppy top hat, oh and that's right I did have a bowler hat I wore that a lot when I was younger. I love all sorts of hats. Like Idzit said, the big ornate hats with all the intricate details they're gorgeous! I actually made one of those once for my grandma who was going to an Adelaide Cup Race Day luncheon - I loved it and she did too. I decorated it with little coloured birds, butterflies and flowers and I can't remember what else, that was a long time ago. I did take some photos, but I'd have to hunt them down.
Oh and berets owned a few of those over the years.

The Quangle Wangle sat;
But his face you could not see
On account of his Beaver hat.
For his hat was a hundred and two feet wide,
With ribbons and bibbons on every side,
And bells and buttons and loops and lace,
So that nobody ever could see the face
Of the Quangle Wangle Quee...
I think people ought to bring back hats. Aux armes, citoyens! Or aux les chapeaux, rather...
